Prayer Breakfast: Mrs. Amanda Rodriguez, esquire, will be the guest presenter at the next prayer breakfast here at the school at 10:00 am on Sunday, March 10. She will speak on the topic of “Internet Safety for Families and their Children”. Mrs. Rodriguez is a graduate of Washington Adventist University and the University of Maryland. She received her juris doctorate at the University of Baltimore Law School in 2007. Mrs. Rodriguez has written numerous articles which have been published both nationally and internationally on the international implications of human trafficking in the US economy. We encourage all parents to be present to learn about child safety and the internet. The breakfast will be served at 10:00 am on March 10. The presentation will follow shortly thereafter. There is no charge for the breakfast or the presentation.
Noon Dismissal Changed to Full Day: We will have a full day of school next Tuesday, March 12. With having so many snow days, we need to make up some time.
Snow Day Makeup: For the month of April we will have an extra hour of school on Fridays. School will dismiss at 3 pm on April 5, 12, 19, and 26. After School Care will begin at 3:15 and run till 4:30 pm.
Dress Down Day for $1: Next Wednesday, March 13, we will have another Dress Down Day for $1. Proceeds will go to Hospital Care for Children in Togo. Please remember to have your child dress in clothing that is appropriate for a Christian school. Negative wording on shirts, Harry Potter clothing, or any type of dark scary figures on clothing are not appropriate.
Fine Arts Fair Date Change: Our Fine Arts Fair was originally scheduled for Thursday evening, March 21, but we are moving the date to Sunday, April 14 at 3pm. Students will need to be at the school at 1 pm for set up and practice for music performance. Parents will return at 3 pm for the program. We have moved the day to a Sunday to help make up some snow days. This is a required school day. Attendance will be taken.
Hold Your Seat: It is now time to preregister your child for the 2019-2020 school year by going into our website and preregistering. A $175 Hold Your Seat fee will be charged and $150 of it will be reimbursed when you make your first tuition payment for the new school year. When you go to re-enroll your child you will need to click on the parent link on our website (go2rks.com) and create a new user name and password. The Hold Your Seat fee will go up to $200 on March 15. Only $150 will be reimbursed, so preregister today.
School Plan for Inclement Weather: When Berkeley County Schools close or delay school for inclement weather, we will do the same. If there is a 2 hour delay on a Friday, we will close at 2:30 pm, instead of 2:00 pm. Please remember that our school calendar does not match the Berkeley County Schools calendar. We only follow them for inclement weather. If Berkeley County Schools are not in session and we experience bad weather, your child's teacher will text you if we have a delay or closing.
Recruitment: We have had many new families visiting our school for next year and we want to remind you that for each student that you recruit for next school year, you will receive a credit of $200 off your tuition bill.
Noon Dismissal: On Friday, March 22, we will dismiss school at noon. After School Care will run from 12:15-4:30 pm.
Spring Break: Spring Break is just around the corner. School will be closed March 25-29. Enjoy the week off!
