Halloween Alternative: The Martinsburg SDA Church is planning a Kids Social on October 31, from 6-8 pm for children and their families. Lots of fun activities have been planned for all ages.
Prayer Breakfast: We would like to invite all of our parents to attend a special (free) prayer breakfast at the school on Sunday, November 4, at10:00 am. After our breakfast, we will have a brief devotional presented by Pastor David Livergood, from the Martinsburg SDA Church. Members of the school building committee will also share with all of our parents the current plans for the relocation of the school. Please plan to be with us. We are anxious to keep our families informed regarding the new school plant and our relocation plans. Please RSVP to either Kim Harris or your child's teacher no later than October 30 so that we know how many to plan for.
Rocky Knoll Kids for Missions: The end of September your child brought home a photo card with a family on it. This family is heading to Togo, Africa very soon. Stephanie, the mom, is a former student of Mrs. Bankes’. We are very excited to join with them this year for a mission project. Stephanie is a nurse and will be working with the hospital there. We are going to collect “change “ for kids in Togo. Stephanie said that a child there can get hospital care there for about $15 US dollars. So the students and staff are going to collect money and fill a tall container until April and see how many kids we can provide medical care for. Please send in change (dollars won’t be turned down) in to fill our container and help Togo kids.
Parent/Teacher Conferences: On Tuesday, November 6, we will have Parent/Teacher Conferences beginning at 1:00 pm. School will dismiss at noon on this day. Students will not need a lunch unless attending After School Care which will run from 12:15-5:45 pm. Parents are welcome to have their child in After School Care during their conference for no charge.
STEMfest 2018: On Sunday, November 11, from 1-5 pm Highland View Academy will be presenting a STEMfest. There will be break-out sessions from STEM innovators, interactive hands-on STEM activities and engineering challenges. Food will be for sale and door prizes will be given. Students who attend from grades 3-6 will receive extra credit.

Change on Calendar: Our school calendar has the date of November 16 as a Christmas Program Practice and Luncheon at the church. That has been canceled and we will have school on Friday, November 16, at school and dismiss at noon for Thanksgiving Break. After School Care will run from 12:15-4:30 pm.
