Grandparents' Day: Tomorrow, RKS students are celebrating Grandparents' Day in our gymnasium at 11 am. Students were sent home with an invitation to give to their grandparents for this special day. Home & School will provide a lunch for the students and grandparents and there will be a program given by the students for their grandparents. Columbus Day: Next Monday school will be closed for the Columbus Day holiday. Enjoy your three day weekend!
History Trip: Grades 7 & 8 will be on a History Trip next Tuesday through Thursday. Please pray that they have a safe and enjoyable trip.
Clubs Next Week: On Wednesday “What We Believe” and Crocheting Club will meet from 3:15-4:15 pm. After School Rec will take place for the last time next Thursday since basketball will be starting the following week.
Basketball Practice for Grades 5-8: Basketball practice for grades 5-8 will start on Tuesday, October 18 and Thursday October 20, from 3:00-4:30 pm. Each week practice will be on Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 3:00-4:30 pm.
End of 1st Quarter: The first grading period will come to an end on Friday, October 14.
Blessings Program: Our students will be sharing their Blessings Program at the Martinsburg SDA Church on Saturday, October 15, at 11 am. We encourage our students and their families to attend. Music grades are affected by non attendance. Sabbath School classes for all ages begin at 9:30 am. There will be a vegetarian fellowship meal following the program. Families are invited to bring vegetarian dishes to share.
French Night: The Highland View Academy senior class will be hosting a French Night on Saturday, Oct. 15 at 7:30 pm in the cafeteria, a French dinner and a movie are included. The suggested donation is $10 per person. All proceeds for this event will be going towards the senior class mission trip to Panama in the spring. Dress Down Days: The Student Council is having Dress Down Days on the 1st and 3rdTuesday of every month. The cost to participate is $1. The next Dress Down Day for $1 is Tuesday, October 18.

Yankee Candle Sales: The Home & School Committee is doing a fund raiser through Yankee Candle. The catalog sale will begin October 24 and run through November 7.
